We did the Aurora Tour from Anchorage to Fairbanks during an epic series of weather events in the middle of a pandemic surge that required a large amount of logistical flexibility. We were so impressed with communication and problem solving by the whole Salmon Berry team. We had an amazing trip with John as our guide in Anchorage, who seemed to be a mind reader and anticipated our questions and needs, including finding us breakfast and coffee even though power was out in the whole town of Talkeetna! Our Fairbanks based guide, Harrison, was full of energy and equally resourceful, so glad we had an especially amazing night of aurora with him. I have reviewed all of our side excursions as 5 star as well (Glacier Hike, Dallas Seavey Dogsled Tour, Snowshoe Aurora, Chena Hotsprings, Arctic Circle Flight tour), the amount of respect and professionalism among all of these local small businesses is evident and adds to the experience. If you come in the winter, I highly recommend the extreme weather gear rental option. We are active outdoors people from Colorado and our own gear would not have been as toasty warm! Thank you, Candice, for an amazing tour and helping us celebrate anniversary #31 and knocking out our 50th state! We will for sure use Salmon Berry for our summertime visit!

Salmon Berry’s guide, Harrison, picked us up at the Fairbanks airport and off we went in search of the northern lights after arriving at about 10:30 pm ! It was -17 degrees when we started and continued to get colder the wind doing it’s part to keep us VERY cold...skies were overcast so we did not see the lights. Did see the “pipeline” and learned about it’s construction and pro/cons of the pipeline. We settled in a the Ski Lodge which was a warm spot to sit for a moment while we chatted about possible sightings, etc. We spent a lot of time looking at slides and learning from Harrison all about the history of other aurora sightings, which makes for the perfect possibility to see the Northern lights, etc. The stars were amazing, the education Illuminating, and the experience was stellar. Maybe next time we’ll see the lights. Best guide ever...highly recommend Salmon Berry Tours and this guide, Harrison !

Had a delightful evening to see the aurora! My guide was warm and friendly, even loaning me her warm coat when it was super cold outside. From the inside of the ski hut, she was always watching the skies for the aurora and ready to alert us to go outside when the lights began to materialize. I would definitely recommend Salmon Berry tours.
