This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Arches National Park, Moab, UT

We will visit at least three world class locations for photography in iconic Arches National Park in the afternoon into sunset. I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches National Park for the variety of locations.

I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner. We will take a brief break for a snack (not included) between sunset and full dark when the Milky Way emerges.

Bottled water - I provide a cooler full of ice water to refill your refillable water bottles.

National Park admission - please bring a national parks pass or paid admission receipt from Arches.

Most travelers can participate
Some moderate hiking (less than 1 mile round trip) may be required, some on uneven ground.

I can meet you at any hotel or campground in Moab (not Castle Valley), or I can also meet you at the Moab or Arches Visitors Center.

Colin knew the perfect spots to take us. We didn't have a lot of time in Moab so it was perfect that we didn't have to spend time scouting locations especially for the nighttime pictures. He provided us guidance on our photography to help us capture great shots. Colin knows a lot about the area and physical geography. We really enjoyed our evening with Colin and highly recommend this tour.

Colin helped me, a novice photographer, make some key improvements to my approach to landscapes. Because of the cloudy weather, there were definite challenges, but Colin knew exactly where to go to capture the sunset. It was a fun trip, and I’d definitely sign up for one of Colin’s tours in the future.

Our favorite part of the tour was Colin taking us to less popular but still stunning parts of Arches Park. My advice is bring layers for nighttime. It was a bit chilly.

I have done a lot of photography but no astrophotography. Colin was extremely knowledgeable and explained what to do and why you do it which helps to be able to remember how to set your camera. He was very patient and pleasant to work with. He also knows the park like the back of his hand and knows where to get the best shots to line up with the Milky Way. I got some great shots and the knowledge of how to do it again on my own. It was well worth it!

Going to Arches is remarkable in and of itself. The opportunity to visit Arches, with a guide and learn to take night sky photos is transcendent. For those of you who love art, photography, nature, expeditions..this is your option - unlike other options. Colin is a thoughtful and expert guide and this was an A+ experience.

Colin was a real nice guy but spending this much money I expected him to do a little more helping with our photography more then taking pics with his camera. A little disappointing.

Seeing the comet is one of the highlights in lifetime. The comet, the big dipper, milky way, new moon over huge rocks are most amazing scenes.

Colin was our guide over two days in Moab, UT. We took pictures at sunrise in Canyonlands and nighttime in the Arches and it was just an incredible experience. I am a novice photographer with basic camera equipment and this experience helped me to grow in my skill. Colin taught me important things about composition, using certain filters to make the colors pop, pointed out different angles, helped me understand my camera settings and so on. He was a gracious host, thinking ahead of our needs with cold water on the ready, pulling over to the side of the road to show us little secret views and taking us to some of the most amazing photo spots in the parks. The night time shoot of the Milky way was unforgettable. I had so many comments from my friends and family about the gorgeous nighttime sky. He showed me how to set the camera and focus so I can take some really great shots. The other people on the tour were more experienced and had better cameras, they took some amazing shots.
