Itinerary

Scenic, remote and awash with breathtaking beauty, the French Broad Gorge, also known as Section 9 (FB9), rafting adventure takes you through 4 miles of intermediate-level, class II and class III rapids starting at Barnard River Park where the water enters Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy a laid back vibe with opportunities to stop for a jump off the raft or rocks for a refreshing dip in the river. Rafters will be on the water for 2 hours which will be filled with some of the best whitewater in all of Western North Carolina. At the end of this beautifully scenic and thrilling trip we will all enjoy a well earned cold beer provided by Asheville Adventure Company before we head back to our outpost in Asheville.

Great rafting experience with a great variety of rapids - none of which were too scary. Just strong enough to be exhilarating. Guides were terrific. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

We had a great trip today with Jacob. We were not sure what to expect with the recent rains. Water levels were way up but the team made sure we were all safe and had a great time. We will definitely see you again on our next trip.

This excursion exceeded all our expectations! The scenery was absolutely beautiful! Our guides Matt and Jake were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely conscientious. Not only was the adventure exciting, but we felt safe the whole time. The raft and equipment was very reliable, and the ride to the French Broad was extremely convenient. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to experience the beauty and nature of the French Broad!

Gage was our guide and he was wonderful! We ended up being the only 2 people on the trip but he made sure to pull out all the stops and make the experience wonderful! He clearly has a passion for what he does. We will recommend this trip to everyone!

Our guide Matt was very experienced. Roy is a great driver. They take you from Asheville to the starting spot in a van. About 1.5 hours on the water with nice crisp Class 111 rapids. Lots of time to relax and take in the scenery. Incredible. Our trip included rain the entire trip which we felt made it even better. Would do it again.

This was an awesome experience. We were first timers and a little nervous. Jake was our guide and he was very personable and knowledgeable of the rapids. I highly recommend this company and this excursion. We will do it again!
